The Home Church
Matte black dimensional lettering we fabricated for The Home Church in Lodi: MAIN AUDITORIUM over the front entry, FELLOWSHIP café above the café's arched opening, and the café's circle logo on the tile wall behind the counter.
About This Project
The Home Church's Lodi campus on North West Lane has a main auditorium and a fellowship café that guests pass through on the way in. The building is finished in tan stucco with stacked-stone pilasters, black window frames and a curved steel canopy over the main doors, and the church wanted names for both spaces that matched those clean, modern finishes.
We cut every letter set from 1/2-inch acrylic, painted them black with a matte finish and sized each to its wall. Over the glass entry, MAIN AUDITORIUM runs in wide capital letters on the stucco just under the curved canopy, framed by wall sconces and potted topiaries. Inside, FELLOWSHIP café sits above the arched opening into the café, mixing spaced block capitals with a handwritten script café. Behind the counter, The Home Church Fellowship Café circle logo, a ring of lettering around a black half-moon shape, is mounted on the white subway tile beside the menu board.
Matte black dimensional letters suit modern church buildings well. They read cleanly against light stucco, tile or drywall, don't compete with the architecture, and give each room a clear name without adding clutter.
