Sutter Gould Medical Foundation — Radiology

Sutter Gould's medical plaza on West Hammer Lane is a large campus of brick and glass buildings among planters and parking lots. The radiology department set up a dedicated parking area where patients picking up barium and imaging CDs could stay in their cars and call ahead instead of walking in. That only works if patients can find the spaces from the driveway and recognize them once they arrive.

We fabricated and installed new pole signs in the planter next to the reserved spaces, near the building entrance. The white panels on black posts read RADIOLOGY, BARIUM & CD PICK UP, PARK HERE, with the key lines in teal and instructions to stay in the vehicle and call on arrival. Along the drive, we added white RADIOLOGY BARIUM & CD PICK UP panels with red arrows to the posts beneath the existing gray Sutter Gould Medical Foundation signs. Two more post-mounted panels carrying large red and orange X graphics went into a planter in the lot.

On a medical campus, a new service only works if patients can find it without asking. Adding panels to existing posts and setting new signs right where people park is a fast way to route drivers to a new pick-up spot.
