Mandarin House Chinese Restaurant

Mandarin House is a Chinese restaurant on Thornton Road in north Stockton, with a tall red pole at the street that already had arms in place for a sign. The restaurant needed a sign on that pole that drivers could read from the road at speed, with the restaurant's name, a recognizable image and a way to call in an order.

We made a cabinet sized to the pole and installed it there. The white face carries MANDARIN HOUSE CHINESE RESTAURANT in bold red block capitals stacked on four lines, with a red and black Chinese opera mask beside the name. Below it, a green panel carries the restaurant's phone number in large white numerals, and the same green frames the whole cabinet. The red lettering and mask echo the red pole, and the cabinet is braced to the pole's arms with a guy wire.

Cabinet signs are a strong choice for any business with a pole at the street. They stand out from the road, can be lit for night traffic, and the faces can be swapped later if the name or logo changes, while the panel below holds the information customers need.
