Gillson Trucking

Gillson Trucking runs its freight and logistics business from offices on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Stockton. The company supplied its logo, a round truck emblem leading into a road-striped name, and wanted it on the walls.

We designed two signs from that artwork, each sized to its wall. The larger measures about 30 by 65 inches, with letters from 3 1/4 to just over 21 inches tall; the smaller is about 23 by 55 inches, with letters from 2 3/4 to nearly 18 inches. On both, the larger pieces are cut from 1/2-inch acrylic and the smaller ones from 1/4-inch. A round emblem with a semi truck inside an orange and black ring forms the G, the double L is cut to look like a striped highway, and the rest of the name stands off the wall in thick black letters. TRUCKING INC runs underneath, finished with a row of orange and gray chevrons. One sign hangs beside the doorway to a meeting room; the other is on a gray paneled wall.

A logo built in layers of acrylic does more on an office wall than paint or vinyl can. The thicker pieces cast real shadows and give the brand presence, while thinner stock keeps small type crisp.
